Coronado Heights

These were taken on a day out at Coronado Heights. (Or 'Corn on the Heights', as my three year old says.) The kids and I had a picnic and explored. My seven year old found a small mouse. I made him put the mouse back only to find out later that he caught it again and brought it home in his pocket. As you can see, Kansas is not all flat and is quite beautiful. I did not appreciate the state so much until I got older.

I have enjoyed the time with my children. It has been busy and stressful at times, but they are a hoot.
This is one of the pieces I have been working on recently. Some of the detail is lost in the pic and the color is a bit deeper. I am learning that when I think of adding something, but am not sure - don't. It just doesn't ever seem to work out.

Love the Coronado Heights photos. I haven't been up there in years. I know what you mean about having a better appreciation for Kansas as an adult than I did as a kid.

I like your new piece, especially the tendril-looking bits. I'll look forward to seeing the finished product. I've been working on jewelry for Art in the Garden.
